Immigration Testing

Genetrack is recognized by CIC for immigration testing in Canada. Our DNA tests are consistently relied upon by Government Organizations for proving paternity, maternity, and family relatedness.

When insufficient evidence is presented when applying for immigration or permanent residency, DNA Identity Testing is often requested by Canadian Embassies, High Commissions and Consulates for establishing a parent-child or family relationship. Conducting a DNA test is the most reliable, accurate way of proving a family relationship.

Bringing Families Together:
Our laboratory will coordinate the sample collection in the country of residence of the applicants as required by the CIC. Our large network of collection sites across Canada means that appointments can be booked quickly and easily. Once all samples have been received by laboratory, results will be available within 3 to 5 working days. Certified test reports from every DNA immigration case are expedited to both the Petitioner and the Embassy or Consulate requesting the testing.

Chain of Custody and Identification:
Genetrack follows strict identification procedures during the time of your appointment to ensure full court admissibility:

  • All participants are required to bring photo identification to their appointments. For children, a birth certificate or health care card.
  • A picture of the participant is collected during sample collection.
  • A right thumbprint is obtained from all participants during their appointment. For infants, a right footprint is obtained for identification purposes.

The strict chain-of-custody procedure is required to ensure that the identity of all patients can be verified and is a mandatory criterion for court acceptance. The strict identification procedure allows different members to attend appointments at different times or even in different cities. Immediately after sample collection, strict chain-of-custody procedures are followed to ensure the integrity of the specimen during transport and processing.

Initiating a DNA Test for Immigration:
You may initiate your DNA test by using the secure online appointment booking form, or by telephone at 1-888-828-1899, Monday to Friday 8AM to 5PM PT. We provide telephone service in English, Mandarin, Cantonese and Spanish.

Please have the following information ready when placing your order online or by telephone:

  • DNA Request Letter from Canadian Embassy/High Commission/Consulate.
  • Contact information for all participants (names, birth dates, addresses, telephone numbers).
  • Payment method (Visa/MasterCard/Money Order)

If you wish to place your order by fax, please provide the Contact and Payment information on your fax cover, attached to a copy of the DNA Request Letter.

A Genetrack Representative will contact you within 24 working hours of receiving your order to set up an appointment for the Sponsor in Canada. If the Sponsor is overseas, arrangements can be made to accommodate an overseas sample collection. Genetrack will contact the Embassy/Consulate requesting the test to inform them of your decision to proceed with the DNA test. The overseas Embassy/Consulate will coordinate the collection with a clinic in the Petitioner's country of residence, and will then contact the Petitioner directly to schedule an appointment.

Please note that Clinic overseas may charge a minimal collection fee to be paid by the Petitioner at the appointment. Our laboratory fees include all courier charges to and from the Embassy/Consulate overseas.

Testing will commence once our laboratory has received all samples pertaining to the case. This process can take 3 to 5 working days. Reports are expedited to both the Client and the Embassy/Consulate requesting the DNA test.
